  Colorado has 25 national designated Scenic & Historic byways and countless mind-blowing drives all over the state. Some drives may take all day and others will have you discussing history and life. Rack up those car miles and take a gander at these mind blowing scenic drives.   Mt. Evans Highway – 12 miles [gallery size="large" ids="1726,1725,1724,1727"] Not ready to hike up a 14er? Why not drive up one? Mt. Evans Highway is a beautiful scenic drive that takes you up Mt. Evans, snaking and winding up 9,000 ft elevation gain. The drive doesn’t have any railings and steep cliffs so drive carefully!   Independence Pass – 27 Miles [gallery size="large" ids="1728,1732,1731"] One of the faster Colorado drives coasts you through Twin Lakes through Aspen’s back gate. Twin Lakes on its own is amazing, but this drive takes brings in a bit of history, passing by old mine ruins.     Trail Ridge Rd – 47 miles [gallery size="large" ids="1733,1734,1735,1736"] The highest continuously paved through road in North America – So get ready for spectacular views at on of our favorite Colorado drives.   Highway of Legends – 110 miles [gallery size="large" ids="1737,1738,1739"] This drive detours you from the interstate and carries you through some of Colorado’s most glorious countryside. The Highway of Legends is one of the best Colorado drives. Extremely true to its name, it has beautiful sights dominated by extinct volcanoes and the ragged and craggy Spanish Peaks.
