In an effort to keep people safe as they ring in the New Year, RTD will be offering free rides on all of its buses and trains.

As we welcome in 2018, we might get a little carried away and party a little too hard. So don't worry about how you're going to get home, because RTD has got your back. This New Year's Eve, in an effort to prevent people drinking and driving, free rides will be given on all bus and train lines. The free rides will be available from 7 p.m. (Sunday) to 7 a.m. (Monday). An extra hour of service on the B line will be at 12:30 a.m., Monday. There will be a fireworks display downtown, so from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. there will be limited free MallRide services on 16th Street Mall. It's also important to note that there won't be service on the D, F and H light rail lines -- between the Theatre District/Convention Center and 18th & California/Stout stations. If you're unsure of which line or bus to take, or for any trips after midnight on December 31, please refer to the late night weekend and early morning schedules. What are your New Year's Eve plans? Are there fun parties and other events happening in downtown Denver? Let us know in the comments below. And please remember to drink responsibly.
