The first movie will add a little winter holiday cheer to Halloweentime.
I'll start this piece by prefacing that I used to make fun of Hallmark movies and everything they stood for. First off, Hallmark's commercials always make me weepy, which I do not enjoy. Add in the syrupy sweet holiday movies that aired over the usual Golden Girls time slot, and I was not having it.
Until I watched Snow Bride a few years ago. Now, I'm all in. I watch ALL the movies, play the Hallmark Countdown to Christmas Fantasy Game (as well as our own Hallmark Christmas Movie Drinking Game!), and even clear my schedule to watch the Christmas in July showings. My TV is pretty much stuck on the two Hallmark channels during the Countdown to Christmas run.
Yes, I drank the Hallmark eggnog, and I don't think I have any shame about it.
Bust out the ugly holiday sweaters, which are the official Countdown to Christmas uniforms.

So (in my best town cryer voice) "Hear ye, Hear ye! Announcing the 2019 Countdown to Christmas lineup!"
The 10th Anniversary of Countdown to Christmas starts early this year, as it does every year, with the first movie A Merry Christmas Match, airing on October 25. I'm also a Halloween fanatic, and honestly, I can't wait to mix everything up into a monster mash of holiday celebrations. The final premiere will happen on December 28, so you can keep the seasonal cheer rolling into the new year.
In all, 40 new Christmas movies will air between Hallmark and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Channels. Hallmark will debut 24 and the HMM channel will debut 16. That is in addition to the many, many other holiday movies that will run during the span of the viewing event (the company has made 176 original films to date). All of the OG actors from previous years' movies will make appearances, including a few new ones, like Dolly Parton!
In short, if you don't get your fill of shmaltz, cornball romances, and holiday themes, that's on you.
