Caillou is saying "goodbye" to PBS with a collective sigh of relief from parents heard 'round the world.
Caillou is an award-winning cartoon show on PBS Kids where Caillou, an inquisitive 4-year-old, "whose world is filled with fun, learning & imagination and inspires generations of pre-school children to grow emotionally as they explore the world around them." And PBS KIDS has made the decision to cancel the show, which first aired in 1997 in Canada.

Caillou, his parents, and his sister, 2-year-old Rosie, all join in the fun as he explores life around town, interacts with townspeople, and learns life's lessons. Nearly 150 episodes cover everyday occurrences that preschoolers encounter such as "Caillou Goes to Daycare" or "Caillou Goes Around the Block."
As Caillou interacts with others, he's often seen as disobedient, whiny, and disrespectful. And parents are glad to see this character gone from the lineup at PBS KIDS.
