Pokemon fans, rejoice! Poketoons are here!
It seems Pokemon has gone a bit retro.
An official Pokemon account on YouTube, called Pokemon Kids TV, recently debuted a short video titled Chase the Beans. It features Pokemon Scraggy and Mimikyu, but they look as though they came straight from a 1940s cartoon! It's almost as if they were hand-drawn in the same likeness of classic cartoons, such as Tom and Jerry and the Looney Tunes.
Chase the Beans also seemed to mimic these classics in terms of content, with Scraggy and Mimikyu going on a small yet crazy adventure. It clocks in right above 4 minutes. Although it uses the Japanese name for its Pokemon, anyone can watch and understand it perfectly.
So far, Poketoons have already made fans hyped for more!
I really hope #Pokemon does more of these!!https://t.co/i1fjkpzsC9

Pokemon has been one of the most successful entertainment franchises for the past 20 years. It has spawned countless video games, with their latest release, Sword & Shield, following its previous game generations by being a financial and critical success, even after eight previous ones. The anime, which debuted in 1997, is still going strong, with its newest series now being shown on Netflix. Pokemon Go, the highly successful app where you can chase Pokemon around, remains incredibly popular despite being almost four years old.
