Pancakes and maple syrup rolled up into a delicious Oreo cookie: What's not to love?

To say I have a bit of a sweet tooth is an understatement, and anyone that knows me knows I love fall and everything fall-related (I'm looking at you, pumpkin spice). So, when I see a sweet, fall-related product in the aisles of Target, I don't think twice. I instantly throw it into my cart.

Now, I'll admit sometimes I'm disappointed (i.e., Trader Joe's Pumpkin Greek Yogurt), but most of the time I'm glad I gave it a try. Thankfully, Maple Creme Oreos did not disappoint! As soon as I opened the fall-themed package for the first time, I got an amazing whiff of pancakes and syrup.

It wasn't an artificial whiff either, but it smelled like someone had literally set a plate of warm pancakes drizzled with fresh maple syrup in front of me. Now, honestly, I'm not sure that's what Oreo was going for, but if they were, they can pat themselves on the back.

As I took my first bite, the aroma continued to surround me, putting me in a warm, cozy, soon-to-be sugar coma. The smooth and creamy filling is slightly gritty, but you only notice it if you're trying to analyze each bite.

I will say, unlike regular Oreos, I did not care for the filling by itself. When I separated the cookies to lick the frosting, it was too sweet for my professional sweet-tooth. But they were delicious dipped in both milk and coffee.

Full disclosure, I tried these for the first time at night, so I only tried them with milk, but they were amazing. They're super-crispy, so they hold up well in the liquid, adding a little something extra to each bite. I tried them again the next day with coffee, and not surprisingly, it was another match made in heaven. I did learn I personally prefer my cookies dipped in a cold beverage, but for those that like to dunk things in their coffee, I'd give it a try!

Like all Oreos, they're pretty addictive, but I'll go out on a limb and say not as addictive as the original. My personal favorite is the Double Stuffed which I feel like you could easily eat a whole roll of while bingeing on Netflix on the couch. With the Maple Creme Oreos though, you could stop at four or five (I know the serving size is two, but who eats only two cookies?).

All in all, I highly recommend these limited-edition Oreos. While I feel like they're more breakfast-themed than fall-themed, I do think they're a nice addition to the fall lineup, especially if you're not a huge pumpkin spice fan (don't worry, we can still be friends).

You can find them at all major retailers that sell Oreos (in the U.S.). I found them at Target for $2.99, but prices may vary depending on your location and store. If you live in the middle of nowhere, you can also currently purchase them on Amazon for roughly $10. They are limited-edition, so if you love them, be sure to stock up before they're gone!

Have you tried the Maple Creme Oreos yet? If so, what did you think? If not, what's your favorite Oreo? Let's compare notes in the comments!
