Camp Christmas installation celebrates the different eras of holiday festivity.
From sleigh bells to silver tinsel, Christmas cheer from the past and present will be on display during the most wonderful time of the year at the Hangar at Stanley Marketplace. Starting Thursday, November 21, you can visit this ultimate Christmas immersive experience and take a journey through festive history. The installation is designed to be secular in nature, focusing on how we celebrate the holiday.
"Camp Christmas is Denver’s newest holiday experience, where yuletide traditions of the past and present get merrily mashed together in a massive 10,000-square-foot wonderland. It’s not just pretty lights and mistletoe. This is where Marie Antoinette commands a Rococo sleigh, where ancient Roman festivals become Santa-fied, and where pink is more than just a color – it’s a place," says denvercenter.org. "Come in from the cold with your whole family and get wrapped in the ooey-gooey, odd and sweet rituals that have brought light to the darkness of winter for thousands of years."
The immersive experience is brought to us by the Denver Center for Performing Arts and Colorado-based installation artist Lonnie Hanzon. Hanzon is a revered installation artist whose holiday work has been featured in the Parade of Lights, Neiman Marcus, and more.

The installation will be open from November 21 to January 5, so it's perfect for chintzy, campy holiday fun for the whole family. In fact, Santa will be on hand in his sleigh every Saturday before Christmas, and you can take your own pictures of your kids (or yourself) with the jolly one. Please note, there is no professional photographer on hand.
But that's not all Santa has up his sleeve for visitors. You can get hot cocoa for the kids, and for the of-legal-age crowd, the onsite Santa's Bar and Christmas Tiki Bar will be slinging some very merry cocktails to let you sip the holiday spirit while you wander the installation.
"Come explore cleverly curated environments that are chock-full of Christmas decor and hundreds of hidden secrets that you’ll only see if you pay attention. You get the freedom to decide where you go and where you focus. Follow our fun maps to look for themes like light, gift-giving, sweets and Santa himself, or just take it all in!" says denvercenter.org.
