The Celtic on Market is an Irish-style pub worth your time and money.

Downtown Denver has some of the best restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues inside Colorado. We think it's about time some of these places were spotlighted. Down on 14th and Market street is The Celtic, an Irish-style pub with a lively atmosphere and great entertainment. Let's give you the lowdown on why it's worth a Saturday night visit.

First of all, they have a wide variety of drinks for all sorts of tastes. The bars on the main and lower floors are fully stocked with different whiskeys, vodkas, beers, and more. Plus, the bartenders are polite and well-trained, so if you name the drink, they'll make it for you. The Celtic also has some great Irish cuisine on their menu (duh!), from appetizers to full-course meals. But if you're a picky eater or know someone who's fairly picky, they do have some options for you, including some great chicken tenders or an old-fashioned burger. We recommend the Scottish salmon fillet and Killarney toast as a side dish.

One of the other unique aspects of this pub is that it has off track betting, both horse and Greyhound racing. TVs will stream races from around the United States, as well as some international tracks, like Europe or Australia. If you're a first-timer, they'll even teach you how payouts work on each track! Bets take place each day, but keep in mind that cashiers are only around Wednesdays to Sundays if you need to cash in your tickets. However, Mondays and Tuesdays will have an automated betting machine for you to use.

The Celtic is located on 1400 Market St in downtown Denver. Expect a good time and great eats if you decide to party here. Good luck if you make a bet – may your pick bring you riches.
