Danforth's impact reached nearly every part of the court in the regular season, as the Lakers finished with an 11-9 record. The junior is averaging 15.5 points, seven rebounds, 4.4 assists, 2.6 steals and one block a game. His all-around play continued in the first round of the Section III, Class B tournament. Danforth racked up 10 points, nine rebounds, six assists, three steals and one block on Friday in Skaneateles' 88-39 rout over Altmar-Parish-Williamstown. He will look to continue to affect every level of the game on Wednesday when the Lakers host Cazenovia in the quarterfinals.

Coming off a torn ACL he suffered in July 2023, Baylor played a key role in the Blue Devils finishing the regular season with a 17-game winning streak after their season-opening loss to Southern Cayuga. The senior is averaging over 20 points and nine rebounds a game as Moravia is ranked No. 6 in Class C in the state. On Wednesday, he helped his team win its
fourth straight Interscholastic Athletic Conference Small School championship by dropping a team-high 23 points. Baylor and the defending state champions have their first test of the postseason Friday when they take on Deposit-Hancock or Southern Cayuga at home in the Section IV, Class C quarterfinals.

Cato-Meridian won six of its last seven games of the regular season to enter the Section III, Class C tournament at 14-6, with the freshman leading the charge during that stretch. Planck put up 20.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 2.3 steals as the Blue Devils concluded their regular season on a strong note. Taking on a bigger role during the 2024-2025 campaign, he averaged 15.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 2.8 steals and 1.2 blocks per game. Planck and Cato-Meridian have their first test of sectionals on Monday when they host Weedsport in the first round.

Unable to compete at sectionals last season
due to a torn ACL , Bennett looks poised to make up for lost time. The senior posted 27.3 points and grabbed over 15 rebounds a game during Southern Cayuga's 13-7 regular season. One of her best performances came on Feb. 12, when she scored 45 points and pulled down 20 rebounds in a 58-57 loss to
Oneonta. She and Southern Cayuga's first test of the postseason comes on Wednesday when they host Bainbridge-Guilford in the first round of the Section IV, Class C tournament. Taking the court as the Wolves' primary distributor, Kalet helped guide her team to a 15-4 regular-season record. The junior averaged over 5.5 assists a game and totaled at least seven assists in four matchups. To go along with her passing, the guard averaged over 11 points per game. Kalet had one of her best outings of the season on Jan. 24, when she scored a game-high 28 points, dished out eight assists and swiped four steals in a 74-29 win against Groton. She and Union Springs kick off their postseason Wednesday when they host Richfield Springs/ODY in the first round of the Section IV, Class C tournament.

The girl Blue Devils joined the boys on top of the IAC mountain Wednesday, as they captured their second straight IAC Small School title. Wasileski propelled Moravia to the victory with 16 points, seven rebounds and two blocks. Heading into the postseason, the junior has averaged 14.1 points and 8.3 rebounds during the Blue Devils' past six wins. After playing a key part in Moravia's journey to its first state title last season, Wasileski will once again have an instrumental role. She and the Blue Devils will be back on their home court Wednesday when they face Oxford Academy in the first round of the Section IV, Class C tournament.

Flask capped off her and the Wolverines' regular season by
scoring a game-high 27 points against Cato-Meridian on Feb. 12 to join the 1,000-point club. While averaging 16.6 points per game this season, the junior led her team to a 17-3 regular-season record. Alongside Flask's scoring, she put up a team-high 3.7 steals and grabbed 5.6 rebounds a contest. Out of the 81 field goals the guard has made this season, 45 of them have come from 3-point range. In the Wolverines' 66-27 first-round win over Alexandria on Saturday, she dropped a game-high 17 points. Flask will have her second test in the Section III, Class C tournament on Thursday when Weedsport hosts Tully in the quarterfinals.
Boys ice hockey: Luke Bobbett, Skaneateles
Appearing in all 20 of the Lakers' games so far this season, Bobbett has left a mark in every matchup. The sophomore has scored or assisted in every game this season, totaling a team-high 38 assists and scoring 15 goals. In Skaneateles' first sectional game on Wednesday, a 6-0 quarterfinal win over New Hartford, the forward totaled one goal and one assist. Bobbett and the
defending state champions are back on their home ice Tuesday when they take on Clinton in the Section III, Division II semifinals. Over Skaneateles' two regular-season matchups against the Comets, Bobbett combined for two goals and three assists.

Maneri punched his ticket for a second consecutive trip to the state finals by placing first at the Section III, Division I championships on Feb. 15 in the 108-pound weight class. He took sixth place last year at the state finals, and ended the season with a 39-3 record. During his junior year he has amassed 31 wins to just one loss. Of his 39 victories, 15 have come by pin and 14 have been by technical fall. In the seven tournaments where he competed this season, he placed first at six.
Port Byron freshman Mason Tanner is recognized for placing third in his weight class in Division II at the 2024 New York state wrestling championships in Albany in February 2024. Boys wrestling: Mason Tanner, Jordan-Elbridge/Port Byron/Union Springs/Cato-Meridian
Like Maneri, Tanner advanced to the state championships for the second straight year. He placed third in the 101-pound weight class last season at the NYSPHSAA Division II championships, ending the year at 32-7. As a sophomore, Tanner has taken his performance up a notch. Owning a 33-1 record this season, his one loss came against the aforementioned Maneri in the first-place match at the Robert Bradshaw Invitational on Jan. 17. Otherwise, he has racked up five first-place tournament finishes going into the state finals in Albany on Friday.
