This weekend is the first weekend of Black History Month, the culmination of the NFL season with Super Bowl LV, and the beginning of Valentine's Day week.

Denver has plenty of exciting opportunities this weekend to celebrate Black History Month and catch the big game, along with virtual and in-person art, dance and music, whiskey and dumpling tasting, and fitness for a cause.

Free Entrance to Honor Black History Month

The history and experience of Black people is an important part of our community's past, present, and future. For February's First Friday, Museo de las Americas is making the museum free all day long and staying open late for visitors to experience the current exhibition, Testigos/Witnesses.

Friday Afternoon Concert Series

Join us for a series of lively afternoon concerts in the museum's acoustically marvelous Stewart Auditorium. This week, violist Matthew Dane (Opera Colorado, Boulder Piano Quartet), and flutist Christina Jennings (CU Boulder) presents a highly diverse program of solos and duos from Baroque to contemporary.

The Late Works: Clyfford Still in Maryland

Where: Clyfford Still Museum, 1250 Bannock Street, Denver

This exhibition, the first of its kind, investigates Clyfford Still's later works, both in painting and in drawing, made after his move to rural Maryland in 1961.

The Whiskey Tasting

Paul Taylor Dance Company

Through a unique, multi-part performance featuring Esplanade, audiences will experience Paul Taylor's iconic work brimming with youthful exuberance. This event will be preceded by a commentary with Artistic Director Michael Novak and dancers, and a live Q&A will be scheduled post-viewing open to audience members.

Saturday Matinee: Walter Chaw and Natasha Lyonne Talk The Seventh Seal
