New month, new things to do. Here are some events you can attend on the first weekend of September.

It is not easy going back to work after a three-day weekend (ah, memories). The silver lining, however, is that the weekend is closer than you think. A new month in Denver means art walks, gallery openings, and art festivals. Here are 12 things you can do in Denver this weekend.

A new month means a new First Friday Art Walk. Every first Friday of the month, the Santa De Art District leaves its gallery doors open until nighttime, allowing art enthusiasts to take a stroll down the district and enjoy the work of local artists. You can also enjoy live music, art performances, and food from local food trucks that gather for the event.

Artists gather in RiNo to create live art in a secret location in the neighborhood. Stroll down the streets of RiNo to find artists creating incredible live art next to each other, displaying their skills in this creative competition.

Every first Saturday of the month, Denver Art Museum hosts "Free Day at DAM," where people can explore the museum's exhibition for free. Currently, the museum is exhibiting The Light Show, The Incubation Effect, and Treasures of British Art: The Berger Collection.

Don't Tell Comedy hosts another night of Don't Tell Denver. The event is a night of comedy and laughs and you are allowed to bring your own drinks. They keep the performers and the location a secret until the day of the event at noon, when they release the information to anyone who has bought a ticket. Enjoy a night of mystery and laugh with some of the best comedians from around the country.

Denver Art Museum collaborates with Friends of Native Arts: The Douglas Society to celebrate the 30th Annual Denver Art Museum Friendship Powwow. The 30th-anniversary event celebrates Native American cultures with dance performances, art exhibitions, drum groups, and more.

Summer Silent Disco Series

Jackson's Denver presents All You Can Drink Summer Silent Disco. The event celebrates the end of summer with cocktails and music from local DJs you can hear through your headphones. The ticket includes free drinks until midnight and a set of silent disco headphones, which allows people to tune into each of the 3 DJs playing at the event.

Denver Fashion Week Casting Call

Denver Fashion Week is hosting auditions for models for the upcoming event. If it is your dream to strut down the runway, then the Casting Call this weekend might be your big opportunity. The casting call is looking for models of all backgrounds. It is free to audition, but applicants must sign up beforehand.

50th Anniversary Bonsai Show

The Denver Botanic Gardens partners with Rocky Mountain Bonsai Society for the 50th Anniversary Bonsai Show. The vent features a display of bonsai trees, many of which are native to Colorado. There will also be a demonstration by local professional bonsai artist Todd Schlafer. Vendors will be selling beginner bonsais and materials for their care.
