Whether you're here for the weekend or you've been here your whole life, Denver has activities to fill anyone's time.

Whether you’re new in town, just here for the week, or you’ve lived here all your life, there’s something for everyone to do in Denver! See the city in style, check out a roller coaster that’s older than you are (probably), get some tasty food, or even just float down a river with your friends. Colorado is a beautiful state, and its capital is full of fun activities to do with visiting relatives or old friends.

Cruise Downtown in Style

Picture used with permission. There really is no better way to see downtown than from a moped! ScooTours Scooter Rental in Denver is the number 1 tour on TripAdvisor, and for good reason. You have two options for your trip. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can rent a moped for 2 hours, 3 hours, or a full day! If you’d prefer a guide, you can book a sightseeing tour with knowledgeable, fun guides who’ll make sure your trip is a good one. They’ll give you a ‘scootorial’ to make sure you’re safe before they let you off the lot. Not only that, they provide you with gas, a helmet, eye protection, sunscreen or gloves (depending on the weather), maps, and suggestions of fun places to go.   However, they do ask that you make a reservation to ensure there’s a scooter available for you. If you have to cancel, they ask that you do it 72 hours in advance.

Relive the Charm of the 1900’s

Lakeside is an amusement park with plenty of charm and history. It’s been in the same location since 1908, and it boasts a wooden roller coaster that’s 70 years old! Enjoy the views of the lake and downtown, check out the classic neon that still works inside the park, or hop on one of their many rides. It’s also a wonderfully affordable option-- parking is free, admission is $3 per person, and ride coupons are 50 cents each (each ride takes between 1 and 6 coupons). Be sure to ride the Cyclone while you’re there-- the line is long for a reason!

Float Down a Beautiful River

activities Clear Creek is a scenic beauty in Golden, Colorado. On a hot summer day, it attracts fishermen, sunbathers, kayakers, runners, bikers, and just about anyone else you can think of. For an overall fun relaxing day, grab a cheap inner tube and float down the river with your friends. Afterwards, Catch some rays on the bank -- the river offers some of the best people watching around!   Make sure to wear sunscreen and other sun protection, like sunglasses. It can get really hot out there, and a day of fun isn’t worth an uncomfortable sunburn!

Grab Some Genuine English Fare

Get Battered Fish and Chips brings the English countryside to Denver. If you’re not a fan of fish, they have other offerings as well. Shepherd’s Pie, Pasties, Bangers & Mash, and Pork Pies will all make you feel like you’ve left Colorado far behind.   Come check out Tilapia Tuesdays-- $1 per piece of Tilapia all day every Tuesday! Everything is made fresh in-house-- they even stuff their own bangers. This is the only place in Colorado to get that genuine English food with a local, homegrown atmosphere.

Step Waaaaay Back in Time

activities Dinosaur Ridge is a genuine journey to the past-- no hot tubs or phone boxes required.  Walk in the footsteps of ancient beasts as you follow the Ridge trail along what was once a floodplain. See history unfolding before you as you follow the trails left behind by the dinosaurs who lived here so long ago. You’re welcome to walk the trail by yourself, and guided tours are also available.

Get Some Swedish Meatballs

If you’re more interested in Swedish food than the English fare above, then IKEA is a must-stop for you. Wander around the store and see if you can make it to the restaurant without spending anything. Then enjoy their signature Swedish Meatballs with Lingonberry Sauce for only $4.99, not including that hard-to-pronounce shelf you’ve fallen in love with.   Whether you want to see the city, eat some delicious food,or just relax by the water, Denver offers something for everyone to do. No matter the mood you’re in, I know you’ll find something to entertain you and make your day one to remember.
