Saddle Rock Golf Course

I was on a plane heading to Vegas years ago reading an article in the in-cabin magazine that declared Hole 10 at one of my favorite courses, Saddle Rock, as one of the hardest holes in the nation. The rough native areas, water hazards, and large trees make Saddlerock a fun and challenging course. The elevation changes provide several great views and although do-able, makes walking the course a challenge. Make sure you bring your A-game to this challenging and beautiful course. The golf course has a great restaurant, Saddle Rock Grill, with both outdoor and indoor seating. Saddle Rock grill offers hearty breakfasts, lunches, and dinners as well as drink specials.
Heritage Eagle Bend

Heritage Eagle Bend golf course is very well-maintained with smooth greens, rolling hills, and scenic holes. The fairways are nice and wide here, but don't let that fool you into thinking this is an easy course. The Eagle’s Nest restaurant in the golf club offers a great happy hour and breakfast burritos in the morning as well as other fairs. They have a large menu for a golf course restaurant and nice men and women's golf apparel for sale.
Common Ground

Common Ground is a pretty golf course with great mountain views. Built on an old Air Force base (old Lowry), the course is wide and flat, but there is danger in the rough and fast greens. Holes are close together and Common Ground is a very walkable course and a great course for any level of golfer.
Spring Hill

Spring Hill is a hidden short executive course great for the beginner. There are three beautiful lakes on the course and a couple water hazards on two holes. Most of the course are par 3s (10 Holes) with 2 par 5s and the rest par 4s. Spring Hill is a great course to walk and work on your iron play if you are not a beginner.
Heather Ridge

Heather Ridge used to be a private course, but was purchased by ajacent homeowners and became public in 2010. Small sloped greens and narrow fairways make this course challenging. Noonan's Sports Bar and Grill, a fun neighborhood restaurant, is located on the upper level of the Heather Ridge golf course clubhouse and nicknamed the "19th hole".
Aurora Hills

Aurora Hills is an easily walked course with an interesting layout and very mature trees. Wide fairways make this a great course for beginners to intermediate players. The fairways and greens are kept in great shape. The Tin Cup Bar and Grill at Aurora Hills has good food (great burgers) and a fun atmosphere.
Heather Gardens

Heather Gardens is an executive 9-hole golf course where, currently due to COVID, you are only allowed to walk the course with your own pull cart. Probably the cheapest golf around town, the 9 holes do not disappoint with well-kept fairways and several sand traps and water hazards on the course.
Meadow Hills

One of the older courses in Aurora and a former country club, Meadow Hills is known for its mature tree lined fairways and tricky small greens. I don't think I've ever played here without hitting a tree! The course is very walkable and playable for any level of expertise. Meadow Hills can't be beaten for the price. Tin Cup restaurant located on site, has an amazing patio and yummy food.
Murphy Creek

While in Aurora, Murphy Creek gives you that "I got out of town" feel with the amazing far off unencumbered views all around the course. Wildlife is abundant on this course and it's not unusual to see a bald eagle or a fox. You can, but I wouldn't recommend walking this rolling hills course. A windy day can provide quite the challenge at this very open range golf course. Murphy Creek has a great pro shop and the Murphy Creek Tavern is a great place to eat after a round.
