What Makes Dodge Unique?

  1. The Dodge brand is super old. The Jeep brand has been around for over 80 years, but Dodge has them beat with a history of over 100 years.
  2. Dodge was founded by Horace Elgin Dodge and John Francis Dodge. 2. The brothers began by opening a bicycle shop, later opened a machine shop, and eventually ventured into producing car parts.
  3. The company created a car specifically for women. 3. The Dodge La Femme emerged in the 1950s as a response to the growing interest in automobiles among women. It was geared toward women with features like pink upholstery and even a purse. Ultimately, it wasn't very popular. I wonder if it had a pink tax!
  4. They also created a car specifically for Texans! In 1956, Dodge released the Coronet Texan, a special version of the Coronet exclusively for sale in Texas. It featured "Texan" badges and a slightly more luxurious interior than the standard Coronet.
  5. Dodge helped revolutionize the U.S. Army! In 1916, Lieutenant George Patton Jr. led the U.S. Army's first charge using cars instead of horses. Patton drove a Dodge WC57 Command Car and, with just two other Dodge vehicles and 15 soldiers, he defeated Pancho Villa's officers. After this, the U.S. military started using cars more and more in place of horses.
  6. Dodge played a crucial role in World War II. Dodge played a vital role in World War II, building both military vehicles and engines for the B-29 Superfortress.
  7. An old Dodge logo was called "Fratzog". The name was originally a meaningless placeholder created by a designer in the early 1960s, but it stuck because no one could come up with anything better! The Fratzog logo featured three interlocking triangles. The logo has made a comeback in recent years, with Dodge using it for their EV lineup .
  8. There was a TV show called Viper. a show called "Viper" aired for four seasons starting in 1994. The show's premise was that a specially modified Dodge Viper was used to fight crime. The government disavowed the car, so the driver became a vigilante. The Viper was so cool that the show didn't even need to be good to be popular! 
  9. The Dodge brothers played a significant role in the early success of Ford. The Dodge brothers helped Ford become successful by producing parts for the Model T. The relationship soured when Ford built his own plants and stopped paying dividends. The Dodges won $25 million in court.
  10. Dodge was a pioneer in vehicle construction. In 1914, Dodge produced the first all-steel car body in large numbers. By 1916, they were producing 70,000 all-steel touring car bodies.
