Adan Manzano , a sports anchor and reporter at Telemundo 39 in Kansas City, has died. He was 27. The rising journalist died Wednesday in New Orleans while on assignment to cover the Super Bowl for Telemundo Kansas City and Tico Sports. A cause of death was not disclosed. In a statement posted to Instagram, the local Telemundo network said it is “cooperating with law enforcement as they investigate this tragic event.” “Adan was a true professional and a rising star, who exemplified excellence in his work. We will deeply miss Adan and his passion for sports, and the contributions he made to the local community,” reads Telemundo 39’s statement. “Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.” Manzano’s death comes just 10 months after his wife, Ashleigh Boyd, died in a car crash in Topeka, Kan. Boyd was driving with her then-1-year-old daughter, Eleanor, who survived the accident.
