A longtime Wichita Falls staple on the chain restaurant scene reopened on Kemp Boulevard Tuesday with a new look, according to a media release. Long John Silver's at 4413 Kemp Blvd. is open 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday through Saturday, the media release said Tuesday. “After months of construction, we are excited for guests to experience our brand-new Wichita Falls restaurant,” Tracy Brown, director of operations–OPCO Mid Plains Region at Long John Silver’s, said in the media release. “While our exterior may look different, inside you will find the same delicious seafood and exceptional service that you know and love from Long John Silver’s," Brown said. Long John Silver’s offers the restaurant's signature batter-dipped fish, chicken and shrimp, fan-favorite hushpuppies, and grilled salmon and shrimp tacos, bowls and meals, the media release said. Long John Silver's was founded in 1969 in Lexington, Kentucky, and first opened a location in 1970 in Wichita Falls at 2500 Kemp Blvd. “With a modern look paired with hints of the high seas, our new restaurant design offers the perfect space for guests to gather and enjoy our tasty seafood treasures," said Leigh Ann VanDam, vice president of design and development at Long John Silver’s. A Dec. 13 city permit indicated the restaurant would have 2,247 square feet and the price tag for the rebuild would be $1.8 million.
