WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — The Wichita Falls Fire Department charged a woman with arson after investigators say they witnessed her setting multiple fires Monday, Feb. 17. According to court documents, just before 11 a.m. Monday firefighters were called to Barwise Street, near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard for a grass fire. At first, investigators believed power lines started the fires; firefighters then said they noticed Ariel Sewell, 26, near railroad tracks starting the fires using items from a plastic bag and a pink cigarette lighter. According to an arrest report, she told fire investigators she set the fires out of frustration because she was being harassed by Wichita Falls police officers. As of the publication of this story, Sewell’s bond has not been set.
