Big 12 baseball has taken on a decidedly different look this season, with the loss of two of its pillars, Texas and Oklahoma, and the addition of newcomers Arizona , Arizona State and Utah, along with relative new arrivals like Cincinnati, Houston, BYU and UCF that are in just their second year in the league. This week, a long regular season will come to an end with the crowning of a conference champion. The 2025 Big 12 baseball tournament gets started Wednesday at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, with the winner of the event earning an automatic berth to the 2025 NCAA tournament . It’s the second time in the past three seasons that the Mountaineers have won at least a share of the Big 12 regular-season championship. Once in Texas, though, they’ll have some fierce competition to take home the tournament title. Arizona State, TCU and Kansas all entered the weekend tied for second place in the league standings, all with 18-10 conference records, and Arizona, at 16-12, wasn’t far behind. Arizona State and Arizona are among the most decorated programs in college baseball history, with five and four NCAA titles, respectively.
