The U.S. Senate Race in Ohio could tip the scales in Congress and the candidates are spending some of the last days of their campaign in southwest Ohio.

Sherrod Brown, the Democratic incumbent, and Bernie Moreno, the Republican challenger, are ramping up their campaign stops as polls show them in a dead heat.

The two have ads everywhere and it's estimated that as much as $440 million will be spent on advertising statewide .

Around $22 million of that has gone to the Cincinnati area, alone. That could make this one of the most expensive races in the country.

Moreno made a stop in Batavia on Saturday and Wilmington on Sunday. Brown held a rally in Norwood, near the Board of Elections, Sunday.

Both expressed the importance of the stops in the region.

"Sherrod Brown never shows up in places like Batavia. He doesn't show up in West Chester. He doesn't show up in anywhere around here because he only cares about Cleveland and Columbus," Moreno told WLWT Saturday. "He ignores the southwest part of the state. He ignores the southeast part of the state, he ignores the northwest part of the state. This is a guy who lost his stamina."

"Just recently, 44 billionaires dropped $40 million more against me in this campaign," Brown said Sunday. "But you know what: Bernie Moreno's got the billionaires, I've got all you and I'll take that trade any day."

Whichever candidate wins could determine which party controls the Senate. Democrats currently hold a two-seat majority.
