CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte 49ers officially hired Tim Albin as their next head football coach, the team announced on Sunday. Albin just led the Ohio Bobcats to their first MAC Championship title since 1968 with a 38-3 win over Miami (Ohio). The 59-year-old went 39-13 in four seasons in Athens, including two bowl wins, and guided the Bobcats to another bowl berth in 2024 with a third-straight ten-win season. Albin will replace Biff Poggi, who was fired after less than two full seasons, going 6-16.
