AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The northbound lane at Columbia Highway North and I-20 is shut down.

Aiken County Sheriff’s Office tells us that, according to dispatch, an 18-wheeler lost its load of beams.

An 18-year-old daycare worker has been charged with cruelty to children after allegedly dragging a 4-year-old child across the floor, we learned on Friday.

We’re told that the roadway is expected to be shut down for the next few hours.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is handling the incident.
