PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Friday makes five straight days with highs in the 90s for metro Phoenix, but that little streak will probably come to an end on Saturday as the breezes pick up and some cooler air begins making its way into Arizona.

It’s coming from a storm system moving into central California, which means there is going to be a decent chance for rain and snow there. However, the storm, after making a brief dip to the south, will head very quickly to the north of Arizona, bringing any rain/snow chances with it. Outside of isolated showers in northern Arizona this weekend, say, north of the I-40 corridor, precipitation chances are virtually nil.

We do see rather windy conditions. In eastern Arizona, we’ll see Red Flag Warnings for Saturday and Sunday as the winds will peak in the mid-40s, and we remain very dry. A wind advisory is also out for northern Mojave County and Lake Mead for Saturday.

In the desert, Saturday is a breezy day. High temperatures should drop into the upper 80s.

But much of the cooler air won’t arrive until Sunday, when we’ll see a high of 80. A bunch of locations around town will see highs only in the 70s Sunday afternoon.
