Denver Fashion Week is back again, this time for the fall. In the spring, I had the opportunity to attend DFW's Bridal Fashion Show, which was part of their spring series. I had a great time, so I was excited when I was invited to attend another show.
This particular event was the Sustainable Show, which showcased some really cool eco-friendly fashion. It took place this past weekend, on Saturday, November 9.
Before the show began, we had a live performance by a local artist and winner of the Fall '24 Entertainment Challenge, PMane Gelato. During the show, I saw collections from the following designers: Rebellelion, Ryuju Collective, Die Happy, Factory Fashion, HYACINTH, and Abstraction Design. They all had so many cool looks! Factory Fashion showcased some gorgeous ethereal mermaid-esque looks. At the same time, Ryuju Collective had some awesome denim designs and models who carried teddy bears, just to touch on a couple of highlights.
Beyond the Stage
Like the last fashion show, there were also local vendors who I enjoyed chatting with before the show. Kaden & Kai is a unique business that embodies the sustainable spirit with jewelry made from old bicycle tubes. How freakin cool is that? Talk about upcycling, am I right? I tried one of their bracelets on myself, and it was so pretty! These pieces were even featured on the runway in HYACINTH's show.
While relaxing before the show in the VIP lounge, we had the pleasure of talking to Brandi McMichael, one of the show's hosts and the founder of Fashion Denver. I noticed how cool her outfit was, and she explained that she had repurposed parts of her wedding dress. Who says your wedding dress can't be worn more than once? I love that she did this!
I was also absolutely dazzled by another local business, Lúdere. Her jewelry is so beautiful! Not only are her pieces stunning, but her packaging is adorable. The word Lúdere means "to play," and that's the aesthetic her brand embodies. This jewelry is fun, unique, and elegant. You can learn more about their vision and values here, including their commitment to sustainable and ethical practices.
We also got to chat with a couple of different wineries from Palisade, Maison La Belle Vie Winery, and Grande River Vineyards. I'm still hoping to visit Colorado's wine country, so these spots are definitely on my radar whenever that happens.
A Night of Style and Sustainability
Once again, I had a lovely evening at a DFW show. It was so awesome to witness the local talent, from the models to the designers and everything in between. I also loved connecting with new people and learning about their lives and businesses. I would definitely recommend attending one of the DFW events. It's a fantastic opportunity to engage with and support your local community while having a great time!

In addition to showcasing local fashion talent, Denver Fashion Week's Sustainable Show highlights sustainable and eco-friendly styles in the industry. This is an important topic that is gaining more attention in the fashion world as consumers become more conscious of their environmental impact. It's not just about looking good but also about doing good for the planet.
