Who's ready for "schoolcation"?

A resort at Walt Disney World is allowing kids to take advantage of the craziness going on in the world today. With the pandemic causing students to either stay at home and learn virtually or follow tight restrictions in their school hallways, the Four Seasons Resort Orlando is offering an alternative: "schoolcation." By enrolling their kids in this program, parents are allowing them to remain in supervised classes where they can finish homework, topped by recess at a water park and other outdoor areas.

Where can I sign up, right?

Information on the "sessions," which are similar to classes, is listed below:

  • Held for half-day (9 a.m. to noon)
  • or held for full-day (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) which will include lunch breaks, crafts, and P.E. hours
  • includes groups of up to six children
  • each child has their own desk
  • $50 for half-day and $100 for full-day (participants must already be staying at the resort)

Another bonus is that each assigned classroom follows the 6-foot social distancing rule.

Thomas Steinhauer, the Four Seasons Resort Orlando's vice president, commented on the program: “This new offering exclusively for our Resort guests will be both helpful to parents, as well as something really fun for kids to experience .... Many kids have been completing school work in their homes for a while now. A chance to mix up their learning environment, and combine school and playtime at the Resort, is sure to be a welcome treat and create a memory that will last a lifetime."

An alternative program like this can only bring positivity for students returning to school. With a solution like "schoolcation," Disney once again proves they are the most magical place in the world.

Hi! I've lived in the NOVA region most of my life, repping our sports' teams, finding unique and cozy coffee shops to indulge in, and exploring nature hikes I've never visited. I used to live under the mountains in Roanoke, VA as well as a handful of beaches in NC, but good ol' Northern VA had always called me back! I write novels for fun (currently working on a fantasy series that won't have a terrible ending like Game of Thrones, right?), and enjoy reading and diving into new experiences that help me grow.
