(PLATTE COUNTY, Mo.) The Platte County Sheriff's Office and Riverside Missouri Police Department are continuing the investigation of a double homicide and child abduction which occurred just after 11:15 p.m. Monday. The first homicide in Riverside Missouri happened on the intersection of Vivion Road and NW High Drive at 11:15 p.m. in the parking lot of a car wash. The suspect shot the first victim, an adult female, and took her car from the lot. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect promptly took the stolen car to 4400 block of NW 50th Street in unincorporated Platte County. At the location, the suspect shot and severely injured another adult female, shot and killed a juvenile male and abducted a 5-year-old female from the residence and escaped. The adult female was driven to a nearby hospital, and the juvenile male was pronounced dead. An Amber Alert was issued for the 5-year-old. At 5:10 a.m. Friday, the 5-year-old was located safe and unharmed at a relative's residence. The Amber Alert was canceled. The suspect was reported as having multiple felonies in Kansas City, KS after the two homicides and the child abduction. The suspect returned to Platte County, MO in a stolen car. At 7:30 a.m. the suspect was located on foot off Vivion Road by the intersection of Waukomis Drive. The suspect was identified as George C. Manning, 43-year-old black male, who was shot during an officer involved shooting and was pronounced dead at the scene. Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the officer involved shooting, and any information related to the investigation will be released by them. The investigation of the felonies committed in Kansas City, KS will be investigated by the city's police department. Platte County Sheriff's Office is continuing the investigation of the two homicides and the child abduction.
