The Emporia High boys golf team shot a season best 313, good for 10th in a competitive field of the Firekeeper Open on Tuesday. Emporia High finished 25 strokes behind team champion St. James Academy. Third through 10th in the team standings were separated by just 11 strokes. Will Walker led the way for the Spartans, finishing 15th with a 75. Hudson Sauder finished in a tie for 28th with a 78. Nolan Jacob finished in a tie for 37th with a 79. Jared Johnson finished in a tie for 48th with an 81. Chesney Erkel finished in a tie for 63rd with an 86. Marley Harter finished 70th with a 91. Emporia High will head to Topeka on Monday.
