The Dallas Stars survived and will advance, booking their spot in the second round of the NHL playoffs.

Dallas has outshot Vegas 22-18.

- 0:44 into the third: That was quick. The Stars have regained the lead thanks to Radek Faksa’s quick reflexes. Playing his first minutes since Game 2 of the series, Faksa finished off a backhand shot to help Dallas go up 2-1.

- End of second period: Vegas shifted into another gear in the second frame’s final minutes. Brett Howden’s goal was the Golden Knights’ most productive play.

Both teams recorded eight shots on goal in the period. Dallas had a few opportunities to amplify its advantage, but couldn’t finish them off. Jake Oettinger has 14 saves, Adin Hill has 13.

- 15:25 into the second: Vegas has its response. Game 7 is all tied up at 1-1 after Brett Howden found the back of the net for the Golden Knights. Michael Amadio and William Karlsson set Howden up for the scoring opportunity.

It was Howden’s first goal of the playoffs.

- 7:48 into the second: Dallas seems close to another breakthrough. Roope Hintz provided the Stars’ closest opportunity to add to their lead, seeing a shot sail past Adin Hill’s goal. A Logan Stankoven pass found Hintz in a solid spot, but he couldn’t finish the opportunity. Dallas still leads 1-0.

- Second period begins: The Game 7 action continues as both teams are back on the ice at AAC.

- End of first period: It’s been a back and forth showdown, but Dallas has the advantage after Game 7′s first frame. Wyatt Johnston’s fast-paced steal and shot are the difference makers up to this point. Both teams have recorded seven shots on goal.

Jake Oettinger has seven saves, while Vegas’ Adin Hill has six.

- 14:34 into the first: Wyatt Johnston breaks through and makes the most of a Vegas turnover. The Golden Knights were close to scoring the game’s first goal, seeing a shot bounce off one of Jake Oettinger’s goalposts. Instead, the momentum quickly shifted.

Johnston jumped in front of a Vegas pass and gave Dallas an early 1-0 lead.

- 6:27 into the first period: Dallas can’t make the most of its first power play opportunity and is still looking for an offensive rhythm. The Stars got the man advantage when Vegas’ Keegan Kolesar was called for holding against Jason Robertson.
