SCOTTSDALE, Az. (WTOC) - The Waste Management Phoenix Open, also known as ‘The People’s Open', has become one of the most anticipated events on the TOUR schedule each year. Georgia Southern graduate and 2024 Club Car Champion Steven Fisk played in the Monday qualifier, and earned his way into this weekend’s 132-field. Fisk shot a 9-under 63 in the qualifier, two strokes better than the other two qualifying golfers. His round started with an eagle, and would go on to sink eight birdies with just one bogey. The Waste Management Phoenix Open is played at TPC Scottsdale in Arizona. Many know the event for the par-3 16th hole which has become one of the most nerve-wracking tee shots in golf. Fans are encouraged to loudly react to shots - both good and bad. This will be Fisk’s fourth TOUR event of his rookie season. His previous best finish was T-63rd at the Farmer’s Insurance Open. Fisk tees off his first round in Scottsdale at 1:50 p.m. MT/3:50 p.m. ET on Thursday.
