SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — Before practice rounds began at the WM Phoenix Open in Scottsdale, Matt Fitzpatrick and Max Homa tested the new PGA TOUR 2K25 video game. The PGA stars are both on the cover, along with Tiger Woods. “Every time I see it, it’s pretty surreal. It’s quite the honor. My generation, with video games, it’s kind of all we did growing up, so it’s pretty neat being 34 [years old] now and being a part of one,” Homa said. “It’s the definition of a pinch me moment, for sure.” In the game, there are 27 courses to play. “We do so much to create a game that is available for anyone. You don’t have to know golf. You don’t have to have picked up a club before. There’s tons of variation with a difficulty,” said Shaun West, the senior franchise director at HB Studios. “We added a new swing difficulty this year that just opens up that to a wider market as well.” The game won’t be available until later this month, but it’s being previewed at the WM Phoenix Open. “This event really helps us showcase a lot of the new features that we developed for the game. Visual quality was a huge thing for us this release,” West said. “That’s what’s crazy is how far things have come. In the beginning, you’re shooting like 20-something under. It’s gotten a lot harder, so it’s more realistic. It’s still easier than playing real golf, however it’s amazing how much they’ve added and how far it’s come to make it all of the variables really come to play,” Homa said. Fans can test out PGA TOUR 2K25 at the WMPO Fan Zone. They can preview the game at the 16th hole of the Stadium Course. The game launches Feb. 28. Pre-orders are available. The standard edition costs $69.99, the deluxe edition is $99.99, and the legend edition is $119.99. See a spelling or grammatical error in our story? Please click here to report it .
