Music’s biggest night is fast-approaching. Who will come out on top in each category? And who will have to try and rule the charts next year?

On January 29, the 60th annual Grammys will air star-studded performances, tributes, collaborations, and of course, awards. Winning a Grammy award is a staple of recognition in the music industry, so who will be a big winner this year? Jay-Z has the most nominations, but anything can happen! Here's a list of the biggest categories of the night and who we predict will take the crown.
Record of the Year
Nominees: "Redbone": Childish Gambino "Despacito": Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee (ft. Justin Bieber) "The Story of O.J.": Jay-Z "HUMBLE.": Kendrick Lamar "24K Magic": Bruno Mars Who Will Win: Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee. "Despacito" was the song of the year. It played constantly on the radio and broke many records on different charts. It would be a shock if it didn’t take this one home.
Album of the Year
Nominees: “Awaken My Love!”: Childish Gambino Melodrama: Lorde 4:44: Jay-Z DAMN.: Kendrick Lamar 24K Magic: Bruno Mars Who Will Win: Bruno (or Kendrick or Lorde). As you can see, this was a hard one to decide. Bruno Mars is the more commercial choice, while Kendrick Lamar arguably has the better album. But Lorde’s Melodrama was a lyrical masterpiece, and she is the only woman nominated in this category.
Best New Artist
Nominees: Alessia Cara Lil Uzi Vert SZA Khalid Julia Michaels Who Will Win: SZA. She is the most nominated woman of the night. SZA is the newest princess of R&B with her slow jams about love (loving another man, loving yourself, etc.) Will she be able to pull it out?
Song of the Year
Nominees: "1-800-273-8255" (Performed by Logic (ft. Alessia Cara, Khalid)) "Despacito" (Performed by Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee (ft. Justin Bieber)) "4:44" (Performed by Jay-Z) "Issues" (Performed by Julia Michaels) "That’s What I Like" (Performed by Bruno Mars) Who Will Win: Logic. The Grammys like to make statements. Logic’s song titled after the suicide prevention hotline is the biggest statement and will surely rack home some prizes.
Best Pop Vocal Album
Nominees: Kaleidoscope EP: Coldplay Divide: Ed Sheeran Joanne: Lady Gaga Evolve: Imagine Dragons Lust for Life: Lana Del Ray Rainbow: Kesha Who Will Win: Ed Sheeran. The newly engaged songwriter is one of the safer choices in this category. If it isn’t Sheeran, expect one of the ladies to take home the coveted trophy.
Best R&B Album
Nominees: Freudian: Daniel Caesar Let Love Rule: Ledisi Gumbo: PJ Morton Feel the Real: Musiq Soulchild 24K Magic: Bruno Mars Who Will Win: Bruno Mars. As said in the Album of the Year category, Bruno Mars is the best commercial choice. He definitely takes this one home.
Best Rap Album
Nominees: Culture: Migos Laila’s Wisdom: Rapsody 4:44: Jay-Z DAMN.: Kendrick Lamar Flower Boy: Tyler, The Creator Who Will Win: Kendrick Lamar. DAMN. was one of the most critically acclaimed albums of the year. Lamar is the fresh face of the rap music industry and he is bound to add another trophy to his shelf.
Best Rock Album
Nominees: Emperor of Sand: Mastodon Hardwired...To Self-Destruct: Metallica The Stories We Tell Ourselves: Nothing More Villains: Queens of the Stone Age A Deeper Understanding: The War on Drugs Who Will Win: Metallica. Despite a career passing 35 years, Metallica has yet to win in this category. Are they overdue for this prize?
Best Country Album
Nominees: Cosmic Hallelujah: Kenny Chesney Heart Break: Lady Antebellum The Breaker: Little Big Town Life Changes: Thomas Rhett From A Room, Volume 1: Chris Stapleton Who Will Win: Chris Stapleton. Stapleton leads the nominations in the country categories. After winning this in 2016, he has a very good chance of taking the prize again.

Will these predictions for the Grammys come true? I guess we will see Sunday night at 7:30 p.m. on CBS!
