On Museum Day, September 21, the Smithsonian is offering FREE two-person passes to a large multitude of museums.

It's called Museum Day, and it means free museum tickets to a huge plethora of Smithsonian and Smithsonian-affiliate museums. Museum Day is an opportunity to enjoy museums free of cost on Saturday, September 21. The offer involves two free tickets per museum.

Here is the official statement from Smithsonian Magazine about this special event: 

"Museum Day is an annual celebration of boundless curiosity hosted by Smithsonian magazine. Participating museums and cultural institutions across the country provide free entry to anyone presenting a Museum Day ticket. The Museum Day ticket provides free admission for two people on Saturday, September 21, 2019."
