The program will send digital cards to those on the frontlines of the pandemic.

Want to thank the many frontlines and essential workers of Colorado? Medical professionals, grocery store workers, first responders, social workers, and the like have been working long hours throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and they deserve a note of thanks for that hard work. A new program offered by Representative Jason Crow aims to help Coloradans do just that.

“Our frontline and essential workers have been putting their lives on the line every day to get us through this crisis," said Crow. "This holiday season, I'm asking my fellow Coloradans in CD6 to join me in saying 'thank you' by submitting a short message and passing along a little extra holiday cheer during these challenging times.”

Crow is asking for people to submit messages, videos, and photos thanking essential workers around the state. Digital cards will be created with the submissions, then virtually sent to essential workers through email and social media. Submissions are being taken until December 18. Learn more and submit your messages here

Crow is also working with the Denver USO in the second annual Holiday Cards for Heroes program. That effort sends cards to service members. Cards can be dropped off at Crow’s district office in Aurora at 3300 South Parker Road until December 18. Cards should be placed inside envelopes, however, should not be sealed.

There is a clearly marked collection box outside Crow’s office for the cards to be left in. Crow reflects on his own time as a service member and remembers how much a handwritten note from home meant when he was deployed. That feeling has inspired him to be a part of the Holiday Cards for Heroes program.

In addition to sending these cards, there are a few other ways to thank those who have been working so hard and putting themselves at risk every day. Hallmark is also offering free cards to thank teachers, and Starbucks is offering free coffee for frontline workers through the end of December.
