You don’t need to go to an expensive spa to get your relaxation and revitalization in. Hot Springs, Virginia, is a small town and there may not be too much entertainment to fill your time with… but it is the location of the noted Homestead Resort. While the resort is on the expensive side, there are plenty of affordable spa-like activities around the area. You can take a rejuvenating dip at Jefferson Pools, which only cost $17 per hour/person.

No one needs a noisy and crowded cruise to some overrated vacation spot. You can take a beautiful boat trip to the secluded island of Tangier. There are frequent boat trips coming back and forth from the island, to Onancock. The beautiful and remote town doesn’t even have cars, so you can enjoy a quiet weekend with 0 traffic. All in all you can have an inexpensive getaway, while learning some history of the quaint fishing town.
