Governor Mike Kehoe has signed an executive order activating the National Guard to help respond to both Wednesday’s storms and any potential stormy weather over the rest of the week. Tornadoes, straight line winds, large hail, heavy rains, and flooding are all possible. Some locations in southeastern Missouri could see between six and 15 inches of rain, including Mark Twain National Forest. In a statement, the governor says the order allows the state to support communities, protect lives and property, and ensure a swift response to any emergencies that arise. It was nearly 3 weeks ago when Kehoe declared a state of emergency ahead of the storm system that spawned 13 confirmed tornadoes and killed at least 12 people in eastern and southern Missouri.
