Colorado's Fall Colors Await!
Move over, wildflowers! Leaf-peeping season is right around the corner, and it's one thing that makes saying goodbye to summer a little easier (But, let's be honest, every season in Colorado is fantastic). The aspens turn to a beautiful golden color, among other lovely trees, and it's a sight to behold. But the leaf-peeping won't last forever, so get out before it passes you by! Let's look at some of the perfect Colorado destinations to take your RV this autumn and enjoy the fun.
Aspen
My first fall camping trip in Colorado was to Aspen, and it absolutely did not disappoint. If you have the opportunity, you must take a hike in the Maroon Bells! This iconic scenery is absolutely amazing in the fall. Keep in mind that you will need to make reservations. You should also check out Snowmass for hiking and biking. I've said it before, and I'll continue to say it: Ski resorts are not only for ski season.

Crested Butte
Another amazing place to catch fall colors is Crested Butte, one of my favorite mountain towns. The area has tons of gorgeous hikes, and the town itself is super cute. If you're up for the challenge, you can even do a hike between Aspen and Crested Butte.
Where to stay: The Oh Be Joyful Campground is a well-rated spot near town with 14 RV campsites. If you don't mind straying a little further, check out Tall Texan in Gunnison. (People from Texas love the CB area.)
Telluride
One of my other favorite mountain towns is Telluride, which is also an absolute dream in the fall. One really cool thing about Telluride is that the gondola is free to ride during the off-season, so you should definitely take advantage of that. I would also recommend the Judd Wiebe trail for a lovely hike.

Ouray
You've got to make a stop at the Switzerland of America! Like Telluride, Ouray is located among the stunning San Juans. It offers many incredible views and is one of my favorite places for fall views. You may also want to drive along the iconic Million Dollar Highway. This road can be challenging and unsuitable for driving your RV. If you have friends going who are not traveling by RV and have a more suitable vehicle for these roads, I suggest you have them drive. If you wish to take your RV, however, research to be as smart as possible. This article is a great place to start.

Now Go Ahead and Get Out There!
So there you have it! With Colorado's spectacular fall colors on their way, it's a great excuse to hit the road in your RV and soak in all that beauty. Whether hiking in the Maroon Bells, strolling through the charming streets of Crested Butte, taking in the views from the free gondola in Telluride, or enjoying the breathtaking scenery of the Switzerland of America, every stop will leave you with unforgettable memories.
Don't let the season pass you by—pack your bags, gather your friends and family, and embark on an adventure bursting with color and excitement. Happy leaf-peeping!
