JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) announced they have begun investigating a Jackson Police Department officer-involved shooting Sunday. According to the Mississippi Department of Public Safety, JPD officers responded to a call near Jamestown Way. Upon arrival, an officer was walking towards the scene when a suspect attempted to hit the officer with his vehicle. The officer then fired his weapon, hitting the suspect. The suspect sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The officer involved did not suffer from any serious physical injuries either. According to the Mississippi Department of Public Safety, MBI is currently gathering evidence and conducting an investigation.
