Effort secures $500,000 in new funding
The St. Luke’s Wood River Foundation is sponsoring an ongoing, community-wide Mental Well-Being Initiative. The St. Luke’s Health System is sponsoring a separate Blaine Student Mental Well-Being Initiative. The Blaine County Mental Well-Being Initiative has secured three additional years of funding to move forward on what Project Coordinator Jenna Vagias describes as a collaborative community effort. The initiative began in May 2023, when Vagias and a small team gathered input from more than 50 people across the health, non-profit, education, faith-based and government sectors. “I don’t know if I’ve ever been involved in any such conversation where everyone is in such lockstep,” Vagias said of the interview process.
