Near record heat and dry air are on the agenda for Monday. Temperatures will reach highs in the low-to-mid 90s with peak heat index values around 100-105 degrees in the afternoon, according to NWS Melbourne. Monday will be mostly dry, but there is a low chance of rain for showers across the interior toward sunset. Residents should expect near record heat to continue through midweek. There is a moderate HeatRisk for most locations, except the Orlando metro area, where a major HeatRisk is forecast. A weak front is expected to move in, drop temperatures and increase rain slightly later into the week.
