Suzanne Morphew's brother is spearheading a new 5-day search later this month.
Colorado mother Suzanne Morphew, 49, went on a bike ride for Mother's Day on May 10. She never made it home.
Morphew reportedly left for a bike ride near her home that morning, an activity she did often. Her two college-aged daughters were away on a camping trip, her husband gone for the day at job training. When her daughters could not reach her, they called a neighbor, who then reported Morphew missing.
Despite over 600 tips and extensive investigations, days of teams searching for her, as well as searches of other properties connected to the case have yielded little to go on. Her bike was reportedly found near a bridge in a well-known outdoor area near her home, but no other major clues or leads have been reported.
A $200,000 reward was announced early on in the case for any information leading to the location of Morphew, or what may have happened to her. Suzanne’s husband issued a public plea for her return, and her nephew has organized and maintained a Facebook page and GoFundMe campaign raising funds to help in the search.
No one has been named as a suspect, nor has the Chaffee County Sheriff ruled out any possibilities.
“This case remains very active, as more than a dozen investigators are aggressively working this case on a daily basis,” Chaffee County Sheriff John Spezze said in an update. “Until we determine what happened to Suzanne, we can’t discount any scenario or formally eliminate anyone from suspicion.”

Morphew’s brother Andrew Moorman decided to organize another search. Moorman announced the new effort at a candlelight vigil held for his sister in her hometown on Saturday. He described his sister to Dateline as “the sweetest girl on the planet” and that everyone loved her.
When Morphew went missing, her brother got right on a plane and came to Colorado from Indiana to help in the search, and since then, has hoped to bring his sister home. With that in mind, he is organizing a search with the help of a team from Profiling Evil. The team of intelligence and criminal behavior experts have been involved in high profile kidnapping and homicide cases and are working with Moorman on his efforts.
“I’m here tonight not because I want to be, but because I have to be,” Moorman announced to a group assembled in the center of town, as reported in the Herald Bulletin. “I’ve got to find my little sister, and I have to bring closure to my family. We were quiet for a while because the investigators asked that of us, but it’s time now to rally the troops and go west and find her.”
The proposed search is set for five days starting on September 24, and Moorman is hoping to recruit 1,000 people to help him, look for his sister, or any clues as to what may have happened to her. He has dozens already signed up to come to Colorado from Indiana.
Morphew’s immediate and extended families are hopeful and desperate to find her, to know what happened to her that day. She was loved by many, is missed by many, and her sudden disappearance has left her family and friends in disbelief and struggling to make sense of the situation. Perhaps this renewed search effort will shed some light on things and bring closure and healing to her family.
The investigation into Morphew’s disappearance remains ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to call the FBI tip line at 719-312-7530.
