OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - In the Bluejays' unofficial start to the 2024-25 season, Texas Tech transfer Pop Isaacs led Creighton with 24 points in a 93-87 win over the 14th-ranked Boilermakers.

The top-20 battle was held at the CHI Health Center, and raised $150,000 for the United Way of the Midlands Disaster Relief Fund.

Creighton led the 2024 national runners up 46-43 at halftime, building their lead up to 13 in the second half.

Along with Isaacs’ 24 points, senior guard Steven Ashworth added 16. Both Isaacs and Ashworth were on lighting it from behind the arc, draining four triples each on six attempts.

Preseason Big East Player of the Year Ryan Kalkbrenner had a team second-most 18 points, in addition to six rebounds and three swats.

In only the second meeting ever between the two programs, the Jays shot 62 percent from the field and saw every player check-in.

Despite a 31-point night from Preseason Big Ten Player of the Year Braden Smith, Creighton came away with the win. Jays head coach Greg McDermott improved to 32-0 in fall exhibition games.

Creighton begins the regular season on Wednesday, November 6th at 8 p.m. against UTRGV.
