The river rose to 55.5 feet at 4 p.m. Wednesday and has fallen to 54.9 feet as of 4:40 a.m. Thursday. The moderate flood stage is 56 feet. A Flood Warning is extended until Friday afternoon for the Ohio River in Cincinnati. Several roads are closed around the Tri-State including Kellogg Avenue in Anderson Township due to high water and other impacts from heavy rain followed by snow that fell over the weekend. At 55.5 feet, low-lying roads near the Ohio River flood in Anderson Township and East End near Kellogg Avenue and stretches of Kellogg Avenue flood. Basement flooding in East End occurs. Flooding also happens along sections of U.S. 52 in Hamilton and Clermont counties. Low-lying roads in Bromley and Ludlow in Northern Kentucky flood along with sections of Kentucky Route 8 and State Route 56 near Aurora in southeastern Indiana. Drivers are urged to turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Emergency officials in other areas around the Tri-State are monitoring the Ohio River as well. It already crested in Maysville and near New Richmond and will go below flood stage sometime Thursday afternoon.
