F iona Fu is waiting on a dock overlooking the River Thames, clutching a red urn decorated with ornate Chinese embroidery and wrapped in layers of cloth as she embarks on a 26-hour journey to take her daughter back to Thailand, where she was born.

“I only want the best for my baby,” Fu says, cradling the box filled with the ashes of her daughter, Kamonnan Thiamphanit, 27, known as Angela, who was found stabbed to death last month in a £4 million home in Bayswater, Westminster. “We just want to get justice for her.”
