The 90-day Maryland legislative session came to an end last night as lawmakers finalized budget cuts, tax increases and bills that will have impacts on energy, education and beyond in the state. This morning we spoke with Political Analyst John Dedie to further discuss made it through the session and and how it will impact Marylanders. Dedie said, "the budget situation, a lot of it can be attributed action is Washington but a lot of it is their own self-making as a result of the blueprint plan for education which was an unfunded mandate to begin with. the money is just not there to do it and the state is going to go broke trying to do it." Dedie also went on to also say, "the board of public works, the body that makes cuts to the budget will be make cuts to colleges, medicade and state employees to try and balance the budget if they don't come back for a special session."
