5 Ways to Celebrate V-Day in D.C.!
Washington D.C., like Colorado, has become a popular place for young professionals to move to. With Valentine's Day approaching, we wanted to take a look at some romantic Valentine's Day activities for D.C. couples to do to celebrate. Let's take a look!
Hang Out at Rock Creek Park
Get your nature fix at Rock Creek Park. With 1,754 acres, this is a great place to slow down and relax away from the city. There's lots to do here other than just relax, including historical spots such as colonial houses. You can even go boating or horseback riding!
Dine at Rose's Luxury Restaurant
A good meal is a classic way to spend Valentine's Day, whether that means something homecooked, a fancy restaurant, or something else. Rose's Luxury Restaurant is one spot to consider in D.C. They are closed Sunday-Tuesday, so depending on when V-Day falls, you may have to look elsewhere. If February 14 falls on a day Rose's is open, however, it's worth checking out. They even offer "slightly ridiculously sized desserts," which I'm sure is enticing to those with a strong sweet tooth.
Walk Along the Georgetown River
Walking is a really nice and maybe even underrated romantic activity. The Georgetown River provides a lovely backdrop for a walk. If you want to get your legs moving with the one you love this Valentine's Day, go for a romantic stroll in the area.
Take in the Sights at Tidal Basin
This is an iconic attraction to enjoy in D.C. Walk around the Tidal Basin Loop Trail, and in just 2.1 miles you can take in 11 sites, from Japanese Lantern to Kutz Memorial Bridge and everything in between. This is a fun way to enjoy natural, historical, and cultural marvels with your partner!
Go to a Speakeasy
A speakeasy is not your average bar. Speakeasies feel extra special and almost like a secret, even though they're more trendy these days. Valentine's Day is not your average day either, so this is the perfect activity to add to your itinerary! Some cool speakeasies to visit in the D.C. area include Allegory, Code Red, and The Mirror. Travel in time back to the Prohibition Era by visiting one of the awesome speakeasies D.C. has to offer.
These are just a few romantic Valentine's Day activities for couples in D.C. From enjoying the outdoors to ducking into a speakeasy, there's something for everyone or every aspect of your day.
