Celebrate V-Day the Colorado way!

Valentine's Day is coming up sooner than you think, which means it's time to start planning what you're going to do. Colorado couples have (in my opinion) the advantage of plenty of activities to choose from. There's always something fun to do in Colorado! No matter what time of year or occasion, the state has an activity to offer. That's why I moved here two years ago, and I've never looked back. It's truly such a wonderful place where boredom is rare. In this article, we'll be focusing on fun ways for Colorado couples to celebrate the holiday.

Go Skiing

Valentine's Day is during peak ski season, which I love. Shredding is an awesome way to spend time together if you enjoy mountain sports, like tons of Coloradans. There are also so many amazing ski resorts to choose from in this state! So whether you want to stick to somewhere closer to Denver like Copper or Breckenridge, or journey further and celebrate somewhere even more bougie like Aspen or Telluride, there's an incredible option for you! Stick around the resort or surrounding area after the lifts stop running to keep taking it all in!

Go Hiking or Climbing

This is another classic Colorado activity with many options to choose from! Depending on where you go and how the weather pans out, it may be cold and snowy, so this one is important to prepare for. You can even bring along a little picnic or cheese board to make it extra romantic. If you're feeling particularly adventurous, go for a climb at the Ouray Ice Park. It's also within walking distance from the city of Ouray, so you could grab a meal in this cool mountain town afterward. If you want to stay indoors, there are also bouldering gyms you can go to.

Brewery Hop

People in Colorado also love craft beer! The state is full of awesome craft breweries, over 400 of them! It's also fun to check out different spots try various beers and take in the different atmospheres.

Visit Hot Springs

Hot springs are also abundant in this state! From Strawberry Park Hot Springs in Steamboat to Ouray Hot Springs and so much more, there are so many destinations worth checking out. Some offer a more rugged experience, and you may have to do some exploring to find them, while others are a bit more built up and even feature spa-style experiences.

Explore the Ice Castles

The Ice Castles are a magical winter wonderland experience that is in various states, one of them being Colorado. These castles were made by ice artists who meticulously hand-placed hundreds of thousands of icicles. If castles themselves aren't enchanting enough, this attraction also features private alcoves, tunnels, slides, and more. The sculptures are lit by LED lights to take the experience one step further. Indulge your fairytale dreams this Valentine's Day with a visit to Colorado's Ice Castles, located in Cripple Creek.

These are just a few ideas for fun ways to spend Valentine's Day with your partner in Colorado. You can even do a combination of them! Colorado is truly your oyster. Fall even more in love with both your person and your state this V-Day.
