TUCSON, Ariz. ( KOLD /Gray News) – Three high school students and one adult suffered serious injuries when their school bus crashed in Tucson, Arizona, on Tuesday.

The Arizona Department of Transportation said a small SUV and a school bus from the Kingman Unified School District were involved in the crash around 1:40 p.m. on Interstate 10 near Tangerine Road.

The bus ended up on its side.

The bus was carrying at least 35 students and five adults, including the bus driver and four chaperones.

Three students and one adult from the bus were transported to a local hospital in critical condition, but their injuries are considered non-life-threatening.

All 40 people on the bus were taken to local hospitals to be checked out, but most had minor to no injuries.

The Kingman USD said the students are members of its Future Business Leaders of America. According to the Arizona FBLA website, the state leadership conference is April 1-3 in Tucson.

The bus was traveling from Kingman, Arizona, in the northwestern part of the state. It is about a five-hour drive southeast to get to Tucson.

The students on the bus were from Kingman and Lee Williams high schools in northwestern Arizona.
