ORLANDO, Fla. — SeaWorld Orlando's Expedition Odyssey has officially opened to the public.

Expedition Odyssey combines an inside ride with real-world footage to take visitors on a tour of the Arctic's glaciers and tundra, and the Arctic Ocean that has an immersive feel.

All the video on the ride was shot in remote Arctic locations and takes visitors close to the Arctic's wildlife, including polar bears, orcas and beluga whales.

When that ride is complete, visitors get off into a new habitat at Expedition Odyssey that includes Arctic animals such as beluga whales and walruses..

The ride is designed to be family friendly to give children a chance to learn about the Arctic, so the height requirement is only 39 inches.

Admission is included with the purchase of a SeaWorld ticket .

For visitors who want to get even closer to the animals, upgrades for an additional add-on experience can be purchased.
