Keagan Heitert scored 20 points and Sam Wason provided 18 as Seckman pulled out a 58-56 overtime victory against Jackson in the semifinals of the Class 6 District 1 boys basketball tournament at St. Louis University High.

The Jaguars (20-8) increased their program record for victories with their sixth consecutive victory, including their second win over Jackson in an 11-day span.

Seckman was outscored 19-12 in the fourth quarter but steadied itself and moved one victory from the first district title in program history.

Brayden Holdenreid added nine points and Sam Guethle scored eight for Seckman, which opened the district tournament with a 59-53 win over Mehlville.

The Jaguars play against host SLUH in the district title game at 7 p.m. Monday. It will be the first meeting between the programs.

Marquette 52, Eureka 50 (OT): Mekel Newsome scored his only two points with 4.1 seconds left in overtime, lifting the Mustangs past their Rockwood rival in the semifinals of the Class 6 District 2 tournament at Kirkwood High.

The Mustangs (19-8) advanced to play another Rockwood rival, Lafayette, for the district title at 6 p.m. Monday at Kirkwood.

Marquette, seeking its first district title since 2021, outscored Eureka (16-10) by a 4-2 margin after the teams were tied 48-48 thru regulation.

Brody Owen, who has scored in double figures in all but one game this season, led Marquette with 19 points and assisted Newsome’s game-winning basket.

Also for Marquette, Alex Komorech had 17 points and seven rebounds.

Fort Zumwalt North 54, Liberty 47: Malachi Catizon scored a career-high 15 points to help the Panthers snap a four-game losing streak to Eagles (23-5) in the semifinals of the Class 6 District 4 tournament at Timberland.

Kobe Anderson scored 12 points and dished out nine assists for the Panthers, while Jayden Noel matched his season high with 10 points to lead the Panthers (19-9).

Zumwalt North advanced to face host Timberland (26-1) at 6 p.m. Monday in the district final. Zumwalt North is shooting for its first district title since 2021, when it finished fourth in the Class 6 state tournament.

John Burroughs 64, Hazelwood East 55 (OT): Sheek Pearson’s 13th double-double of the season helped the Bombers pull out a Class 5 District 3 semifinal thriller against the Spartans at Westminster.

Pearson scored 24 points and had 15 rebounds for John Burroughs (21-6), last season’s Class 4 runner-up, and Tristan Reed provided 16 points and six rebounds.

Owen Walther added 12 points for the Bombers, who will play host Westminster (22-6) in the district final at 7 p.m. Monday.

Hazelwood East (19-9) was led by 20 points from sophomore Tyran Frazier and 15 points senior from Jaylen Vance.

The Spartans won the Suburban Conference Green Pool title this season after overcoming an 0-3 start to their campaign.

Vashon 83, Miller Career 45: The five-time defending state champion Wolverines won the Class 4 District 5 title at Public High League rival Miller Career.

Dorea McCaskill was one of five Vashon players in double figures, providing 14 points to go along with a team-leading 11 rebounds and five assists.

Jimmy McKinney III scored a team-leading 15 points, Leon Powell Jr. had 14 points, Terron Garrett scored 13 points and Trey Williams Jr. scored 11 points.

Vashon (23-2) advanced to play host to MICDS (17-11) at 7 p.m. Monday in the Class 4 sectional round.

De Smet 75, Hazelwood Central 52: Riley Massey scored 24 points and Jordan Boyd had 11 as the Spartans won at home in a Class 6 District 3 semifinal.

Last year’s Class 5 state champions, De Smet also got nine points each from Braden Butler, Owen Duff and Will Foulk.

The Spartans (25-3) advanced to play host to Chaminade (17-11) at 7 p.m. Monday in the district title game at De Smet.

Hazelwood Central (14-13), which had won four in a row including a district-opening win against Pattonville, was led by 19 points from Izy Prude.

The Hawks also got 10 points and 10 rebounds from Jamel Hawkins, and 17 points from Mike Nunley III.

McCluer North 70, Fort Zumwalt South 47: The Stars rolled out to a big lead after the first quarter and never looked back in the Class 5 District 4 semifinal at Holt.

Kendall VanDyke, a 6-foot-3 senior, led North (11-12) with 21 points and was followed by 18 points from senior Harrison Bailey-Howard and 14 from junior Terron Brooks.

The Stars, who have won four in a row and six of seven since sitting 5-11 on Jan. 28, will face host Holt (20-8) at 6 p.m. Monday for the district title.

Webster Groves 61, Lutheran South 48: The Statesmen were led by Scottie Adkinson’s 24 point-effort as they moved into the Class 5 District 2 title game.

Carl Whitehead Jr. scored 14 points and had four rebounds while Miles Simpson had 10 points and nine rebounds for Webster Groves (23-5), which plays at Vianney at 6 p.m. Monday for the district title.

It will be the third consecutive season the teams have met in a district game, with Vianney winning both meetings the last two seasons in district semifinals.

Westminster 60, Ladue 54: Four Rams players scored in double figures during a Class 5 District 3 loss to the Wildcats at Westminster.

Will Becker led Ladue (18-10) with 15 points, Haydan Arnold had 13 while Jack Edgerton and Trisiah Edwards had 12 and 10, respectively.

The Wildcats (22-6) advanced to play host to Metro League rival John Burroughs (21-6) at 7 p.m. Monday in the district final.

Rolla 71, Borgia 48: The Knights fell in the Class 5 District 5 semifinals with their second loss to the Bulldogs in four games.

Borgia (19-9) was led by 16 points from Hunter Reinberg along with 13 points and seven rebounds from Harry Mitchell.
