Create an Attention-Grabbing Display for Your Honey Jars
With so many different vendors at farmers’ markets, it can be a little daunting when it comes to selling your product. You may be worried about getting people to notice your goods, which is why we’ve put together some helpful display tips to make sure your honey harvest gets the attention it deserves!- Get a pop-up tent. This provides shade for both you and your customers. Sunshine is great, but roasting all day is not.
- Dress up your table. Choose a down-home style tablecloth with a gingham or floral pattern. Having a tablecloth gives the added benefit of hiding supplies, bags, and other items that you’d rather not have visible.
- Place honey jars on both ends of your table in a tiered display angled towards the front. Be sure to separate any different products to prevent confusion.
- Set up an A-frame chalkboard sign that has your product name and price. Write on both sides to take advantage of shoppers coming in through different directions.
- Make your honey samples standout! Instead of offering little dabs of your honey, put out a full meat, fruit and cheese plate that gives consumers a chance to taste your product paired with a food they’ll like. On a large platter, place a sample jar of your honey in the middle. Set cheeses like brie, camembert or gruyere on one side of the platter and fruits such as sliced strawberries and apples on the other. Lastly, place meats like prosciutto or salami on either side of the honey jar. Don’t forget a basket of crackers and cocktail napkins!
- If possible, bring along an electric tea kettle with a sampler of different teas. A cup of tea plus a drizzle of your honey would delight any thirsty visitor!
- Consider keeping potted spearmint close by as this plant repels pests. With all the sweetness on your table, you’re likely to attract flies and wasps. If there’s room, set it on the table as an attractive addition to your spread.
