On Wednesday, May 22, Virginia Beach will be blessed with the greatness that is Shake Shack. 

A brand-new Shake Shack is set to open next week in Town Center in Virginia Beach. If you’re there bright and early, you may get some free Shack swag. According to Wavy.com, the restaurant is giving the first 100 people in line a custom Virginia Beach tote filled with Shake Shack merch. 

In addition to meeting our need for premium fast-food, Shake Shack is offering Virginia residents three brand-new flavors of custard, including a “Pie Oh My” flavor made with vanilla custard and chunks of pie made by The Rustic Tart, a local bakery in downtown Norfolk. 

For those of you who’ve yet to experience the pure delight of a Shack burger, let us enlighten you. 

Eighteen years ago, Michelin-starred restaurateur Danny Meyer opened the very first Shake Shack in Manhattan. In the beginning, the Shack was a simple hot dog cart, known for its unique blend of Pat LaFrieda beef, perfectly-salted crinkle-cut fries, and in-house custard. Now, Shake Shack is serving up 100 percent real Angus beef burgers out of more than 200 locations.

Although this will be the first Shake Shack in the Hampton Roads, there are three other locations in the northern part of Virginia.
